Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. This project will help build a successful baseball program for our large Hispanic population.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

Our students love to be active, but with limited resources available to our school and students, finding the right activities can be a challenge.

My Project

We need to invest in our students to show how much we care and believe in their abilities. These materials will help our student-athletes improve their skills and maximize the limited facilities our school possesses. It would also go a long way in building the type of baseball and softball program that our kids & community can be proud of!

The limited funds our school has for athletics only covers the basic necessities of team sports; officials, uniforms, and transportation.

With the help of outside donors, we can provide equipment to our programs that most suburban, or well-financed, athletic programs provide. This is but one small way for us to close the gap between our athletic program and those around us.
