Baseball and Statistics

Help me give my students the opportunity for hitting, throwing and catching. With the calculators we will be finding, and solving mathematical equations dealing with statistics.

My Project

I plan on doing several lessons regarding statistics in my math class. I would like to take the students out to the baseball field and get real world experiences by taking baseball hitting, throwing and filling and talk about baseball as a mathematical sport. The students will use the calculators to solve equations as well as the statistics for finding out batting averages, filling percentage, and on base percentage.

The baseballs will give the kids opportunities to use actual materials that the sport provides during games.

The calculators will be used to solve mathematical problems.
