I work in a Title 1 school where 100% of my students eat free lunch. In addition, many of my students reside in hotels. Nonetheless, they are still very inquisitive, funny, caring, smart, silly, creative, and inspirational. They have the ability to push themselves to new limits and in turn make me want to do more to help them aspire to greater heights. In addition, they are adventurous and willing to try new things. They live to learn and I love walking with them on their journey.
My Project
My students are adventurous and willing to try new things. As a result, I am constantly looking for new and exciting ways to develop their desires to learn. I have had success in the past using Donors Choose to receive a laptop to share with my students and I was amazed by how much my students were able to accomplish. They did so much more than I even imagined. As they made huge leaps in discovery using the Alienware, I realized they were in need of a more advanced tool. The Surface Pro will be a great addition to our learning treasure kit in the classroom. I am confident the Surface Pro will help enhance project based learning. I strive to create an environment that is student centered and teacher assisted. The Surface Pro will allow students to be much more creative and give them a chance to work in a different way with technology.
