Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Starting our year off with the bare necessities will help my students with class organization and procedures. My students need to learn how to be responsible with their school supplies. I like using the crayon boxes because they are sturdy and durable throughout the year. They are easy to store and I can tape their iPad login codes to the back of the box. Then they can have them wherever they may go. The sharpies are used in their art work to help bring drawing to life in their centers. They first illustrate their writings and then apply the tracing skills we practice in our art lessons. We use a 3-color rule to help the students use at least three colors on all their illustrations. They love to use the markers. With the help of the recordable buzzers my students can use these at each individual center if needed to listen to the directions again. I also use them in our heart word center. This is where students practice reading, spelling, and writing sight words. They can push the buzzer to hear the words if they do not know how to read them. Finally headphones are needed with so many students in our class. This helps the students focus on their work and not be distracted by others. These materials will help benefit my students learning during the entire year. It will help them develop independent skills as well.
