My Students

My students are freshmen, just starting their high school careers. They are maturing from 8th-grade middle school students into responsible high school students.

They are trying to figure out where they fit in, building new relationships with adults and peers.

I have several students who are riding the cusps of attendance, grades, and behavior and are looking for the motivational push to re-engage them back into their academic careers. They are starving for that reason/purpose to become and stay engaged in their academic future.

My Project

When you think about the bare necessities of a classroom, what comes to mind? Most people will say, desks, chairs, pencils, markers, boards, and maybe a sharpener.

However, what most people don’t realize is that the means to organize and maintain a peaceful and orderly work environment is just as essential as the physical tools of a teacher.

Things like posters about behavior or key academic concepts, folders, even board games, and a bell, can really add to the morale of a classroom.

These along with the bare necessities such as rulers, and markers are what I am trying to secure for my classroom as I look forward to the next academic school year.
