My Project

As a Transitional High School we focus on Social-Emotional learning. Social-Emotional Learning is embedded into the fabric of our daily instruction. To support our students' emotional wellbeing we are looking to create for each of our classrooms a “Wellness Tool Kit.” This will support student self-regulation and independence, empowering them to identify and manage their emotions to maximize their learning potential.

Our students have a variety of special needs and cognitive, behavioral and social-emotional challenges that impact their ability to function up to their full potential.

These many emotional issues limit them from being able to access learning opportunities similar to that of their peers. To support them in developing these requisite skills that are restricting the access they deserve we as a school are looking to provide our students with the critical tools necessary to enable them to access new opportunities in which they greatly deserve. These resources will provide stimulation and sensory learning skills so students can better cope with their emotions.
