My Students
I am so lucky to have a wonderful community of students to work with. The instrumental music program has grown significantly since I began working in this district 3 years ago. We now have over 100 students in the band program. With this wonderful news comes the increased need of supplies, instruments and other materials that are necessary for student growth and musical quality. My students are kind, considerate and most importantly, willing to work hard to achieve success in their craft.
As a young teacher, I am constantly reminded of the impact that music has on the emotional and social well-being of our students.
Some of them have experienced loss, illness, and other difficulties in recent years, yet they come into this room to find joy and happiness in music with the ability to focus and leave those difficulties aside temporarily.
My students deserve to have all of the needed tools to move into the next phase of musicianship. My district is of mixed financial situations. I hope that I can increase my supply of reeds, mallets, mouthpieces, and instruments to allow less fortunate students the opportunity to play in these wonderful musical ensembles.

My Project
The materials listed will allow the students the ability to further their musical growth. The repair kit will allow me to make repairs that I have been unable to do at this point. The kit will also allow smart spending with a very limited budget. Instruments will not have to be sent out for repair as much!
The reeds, Bass Clarinet mouthpiece and percussion mallets will help me provide students who are unable to afford those supplies with the necessary tools to make music and have success in band.
The reeds will be set aside for students who are unable to afford them.
