Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English language learners who are recent immigrants to the United States. Many of my students are refugees and have never been to school, or have experienced interrupted schooling due to war. My students are very eager to learn everything they can to make up for their lost learning time.
If I can provide them the necessary materials to catch up to their peers, my students will shine brightly.
We need to show these children that we care and will do our best to help them in the classroom.
My Project
My classroom has been praised as one of the most nicely decorated in the school. My students love spending time in the room because it is so welcoming. However, I have a very difficult time displaying their projects and everyday accomplishments because we have painted cinderblock walls. I have tried all types of adhesives and I even tried to make my own bulletin boards, to no avail.
These new bulletin boards will greatly impact the classroom environment and the students' love of learning.
I will showcase their work and make engaging, interactive bulletin boards for them to use as learning centers.
