This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year in my class students will be making balsa wood airplanes to understand engineering principles and the design process for something like an airplane. This is a great project because it has a specific challenge where they must keep weight low, while also maintaining the strength and rigidity of their plane. Of course, with any hands-on project we need materials in order to make this happen (which is where you as a donor come in).
Since Covid-19 there has been a big shift in academic culture away from hands-on projects, I want to shift our academic culture back to more hands-on projects.
