My Students
This will be my first year teaching in a Pre-K Center. I love working with younger children. Three-year-olds and Four-year-olds are very inquisitive, and they are not afraid to say what is on their minds.
I know that many of my students will be going to school for the first time.I know that they will be inquisitive and eager to go to school, but also a little nervous.
The Pre-K center that I will be starting in September will be a great place for my students. All the students will be the same age and they will see students who are like them, starting school for the very first time. They won't have to fear the "big kids" walking and looming over them as they walk the halls or running at full speed down the hall. This will be a great learning environment for these early learners. My goal is to make learning fun and exciting for my students.
My Project
This will be my first year teaching in a Pre-K Center. I love working with younger children. I have realized that many children in the public schools are so focused on academics that they are forgetting to build other skills needed for growth. It would be wonderful to provide different "exercise" equipment for my students to use.
The ball pits that I am requesting will give my students the opportunity to wade through, tunnel or climb into the pits.
They think they are playing but they are using gross motor muscles as they get into the ball pit or maneuver through the balls from one side to the other.
This ball pit will also provide opportunities for my students to learn to share and play together. The ball bit is not meant to be an activity to be played alone, but with others. My students will have plenty of opportunity to talk to each other and use social skills as they toss balls to each other or to help each other get from one side to another. This ball pit will also give them a place to relax and calm down when things are just a little too much for them and they need some alone time.
