Bal-A-Vis-X! Integrating Balance, Auditory, and Visual Exercises to Help Students!

My Students

The community of Parma, Idaho has a little over two thousand people. For the upcoming 2016-2017 school year, there will be about ninety fourth grade students. When it comes to our lunch, over half of the students are on the free or reduced lunch rate program. With four hundred students in our school, over two hundred students are living in or near poverty.

There are many students who have additional attention accommodations, as well as students who are on IEPs, or require medication to focus or have suffer from attention difficulties.

A typical school day requires our fourth graders to learn sixty minutes of writing, forty-five to sixty minutes of EnVisions math curriculum, an additional thirty minutes of math interventions and over sixty minutes of English Language Arts.

My Project

This project requests one copy of Bal-A-Vis-X exercises. With this book my students will learn over one hundred different exercises that integrate their individual balance, auditory and visual skills. Bal-A-Vis-X exercises teach students extreme rhythmic exercises while bouncing racquetballs, which can help a student to incorporate both sides of the brain at the same time. I'm also asking for cans of Penn racquetballs.

These exercises allow students to minimize anxiety but maximize personal focus and concentration.

These exercises are particularly useful to help students who acquire accommodations, or who have disabilities. I personally received a three day formal training by the instructor who created this magnificent program!

I plan to teach all of my students the very beginning introductory exercises that include using one racquetball. They will slowly learn more advanced exercises which include two to three racquetballs. These exercises allow students to gain rhythmic movement with their eyes, hands and feet.
