This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In pre-k we love to work together, play together, and get messy. We are learning about the world through hands-on experiences and learning about bread is an excellent way to learn about cultural differences and about the science of baking.
Please help us acquire materials that will help us bake bread in our classroom.
I have asked for a bread maker so that we can easily mix ingredients together and then have bread by snack time. I have also asked for materials so that children in our play centers can pretend to make bread during independent play.
I intend to have family members share their favorite breads so we can learn that while we may all like different things there are many similarities among cultures. I also want to show students the science of toasting bread, as well as the science involved with yeast and baking bread.
I have done this study with older grades, so I have many books to help inform my project, please help me acquire materials that will help me engage in this study with the youngest members of my school.
