Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an amazing group of students with autism who are non-verbal, have severe cognitive challenges, and display behavioral needs. Every day, they work hard to overcome obstacles most of us can't imagine.
We are in need of classroom supplies that help my students regulate, learn, and communicate—items like sensory tools, books, and visual supports.
Supplies like a sensory bottle that has glitter in it they can observe helps them calm visually. Other materials like soft rubber books are great for when they want to look at a book, but difficulty with fine motor and turning pages. Even the storage containers to hold kinetic sand will be a great tool for students to use both for a motivational fun object, but also as an alphabet treasure hunt in the sand.
Your donation will directly provide the tools they need to feel calm, stay engaged, and have a voice. Every item makes a difference in their growth and success.
