Help me give my students an introduction to reading books that include the kindergarten sight words and the love or rhyming. The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham are the quintessential stories for learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the most imaginative students that I have ever come across. They can turn any lesson I present into unexpected adventure. I can read a book to them and they immediately want to contribute to the storyline by reenacting scenes from the book.
I read, Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" to my kids and they took to the story quickly and wanted to act out their own version of the wild rumpus.
They encourage me to integrate the Arts into my curriculum.
I try to incorporate as much music, dance and visual arts as I can throughout the year. I give the students the opportunity to express themselves creativity and I see the benefits of this effort in their work with all subjects.
My Project
The intention for this project is to provide each student with the books that will be used to teach them sight words, rhyming and phonemic awareness.
During the week of Read Across America, our school celebrates throughout the week with creative and fun activities that focus on a specific book each day.
The two books I've chosen, Green Eggs and Ham and The Cat in the Hat, have always been the most popular with my students. They include the sight words most used in Kindergarten and the kids truly enjoy them.
