This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher to an amazing group of third grade students. These past two years have completely changed what our daily rituals used to be. We have to greet each other with a mask covering our smiling faces, however, I can still see the excitement and happiness in their eyes. This year I have the privilege of teaching a grade level that is new for me.

The school they attend is classified as a Title I school; therefore most of them are "at-risk students".

All of them qualify to participate in the free breakfast and lunch programs. The community in which they live in is stricken by a high level of poverty. This, however, does not affect their desire to please me, which in turn makes me love my job even more so. I can only hope to impact them on the importance of striving for success.

My Project

The selected items will be utilized to better prepare my students for their daily routines. The book bags will help my students when they rotate from their Math classroom to their Reading classroom. Currently, they struggle trying to carry their chrome book, pencil box, etc.

These bags will make it so much easier to tote items without any mishaps and save precious learning time as they move to the other class.

The spiral notebooks will come in handy for each student to be able to have a particular color for each subject in order for them to jot down notes being taught. My students work so hard daily, so the scratch papers will be given to them as rewards each time they attain a new skill and for outstanding behavior incentives. Thank you in advance for generosity.
