Bad Chair = Hurting Back

My Students

I will be teaching a class of multicultural fourth graders that are a mixture of ELD, Special Needs, and Gifted students. They are eager students who are ready to learn and try their best.

Almost a third of our students come from low income families that cannot provide them with the resources they need to help give their children the best education possible.

These students are the ones on the free/reduced-price lunch list.

With the diverse students in my class, I always find myself modifying everything I teach.

My Project

I have had the same chair in my classroom for 10 years now. The chair was donated to us after a nearby company had closed down. After years of use, one of the handles broke and I am always finding myself leaning over as if I am about to fall. That is when I thought I would request a new chair for my classroom.

Sitting on a regular child’s chair while sitting at a kidney table effects my back.

It is a constant struggle of finding the right position to sit. This causes my back to hurt as I work with the kids. That is the reason why I’m asking for a second cushioned chair in my classroom. It would be amazing to have proper chairs in the classroom for the adults to use. It might seem like it’s something small in the classroom, but it makes a huge difference for us.

Children learn best when their teacher is in their best health and condition. Please help us out. Thank you in advance for your support!
