Bacteria and DNA Come Alive!

Help me give my students some lab equipment so we can experiment with enzymes using micropipettes, vortex to spin DNA, water bath to grow bacteria, and a microcentrifuge to spin down plasmids.

My Project

I am starting up a new life sciences Chemistry Lab and we don't have any of the hands on equipment needed to run DNA gels, nor talk about saving those with cancer by extracting DNA from the rainforest. The students have never spun cells with a centrifuge nor lysed cells with a vortex.

I hope to give students a few hands-on experiences that could transfer to jobs in the medical field.

The students in this class have chosen to explore other careers that involve chemistry knowledge and skills. I have already ordered the lab kits, now I just need the lab equipment to expand their learning.
