Backyard Biology From Our Homes!

Help me give my students a virtual scientific field trip to learn about the animals in our backyards.

My Students

The elementary school that I work at is such a special place! Our students come to school each day ready to take on another day of learning. I am proud to say that every staff member at my school strives to provide the best place to learn for our students.

My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion!

My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.

My students are the most enthusiastic group of students I have had yet. Each and every one of them brings something unique to our classroom. Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society!

My Project

Villa Heights Elementary students and staff have started off the school year strong despite being online! Our teachers are designing engaging lessons and supporting our students in so many ways- academically, socially, and emotionally. Each Friday our school "gathers" together in Zoom to host a "house party" where we bond and have fun together. Events like these are so important- especially during times of stress, trauma, and uncertainty. This funds for this project will help us to bring a virtual assembly from Discovery Place to one of our Friday "parties".

Thanks to technology engaging field trips and assemblies can happen anywhere!

This assembly will transport our students to Discovery Place Nature where they are able to learn all about the biology that is in our very own backyards here in Charlotte, North Carolina. I thank you in advance for your donations that will help make this assembly a reality for our students!
