Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at my school come from high poverty areas where even leaving the building is dangerous, no matter what time of day. The school is not too far away, but it is at least a train ride away and provides some distance from their home lives.
These students risk their own safety and come to school instead of staying home, locked behind their doors, because they want better lives.
It is my mission to arm them with the skills they need to attain and lead those better lives.
My Project
School is reopening soon, and high schoolers need backpacks to get back into the swing of things again!
The new, clean backpacks will allow students to safely transport their materials to and from school while also being fashionable and giving them something to cheer about!
The students will use them on a daily basis as normalcy resumes day by day.
Each student who opts for in person learning will be able to select the backpack of their choice, so they don't confuse them with that of another student and show of their personality at the same time!
