Help me give my students the opportunity to support their participation in their remote learning experiences with these AMAZING school readiness bags. The materials will support all areas of development!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is made up of 15 full day Pre-K students with and without disabilities and of all races and backgrounds. All of my students come from low income families, from the City of Springfield. Preschool is a child's first school experience, and my goal is to lay the foundation for a love for learning. At this time, we are unsure of what the school year will hold, whether it be in person learning, remote learning, or a mix of both. Regardless of the location, learning should never stop! Our families need the support of learning manipulatives to help support their children while learning from a distance.
Little learners everywhere!
No matter where the school year takes us, I want to ensure my students and their families have the materials they will need to continue participating in the beginning years of learning.
My Project
If my students and their families were able to have these age appropriate learning materials, they would be able to continue the learning experience even after the remote lesson is completed. Pre-K is the beginning of a child's school experience and if they cannot be in the classroom with me, I would like to bring a classroom experience to their homes.
Learning beyond the computer screen!
Research shows that young children learn best through play. These backpacks filled with educational materials will enhance their home learning experiences. They will be able to practice the skills learned through the remote learning process independently, or with the support of their loved ones at home.
My students will be able to explore alphabet knowledge with the ABC cards, practice their fine motor skills through journal writing, and work on a variety of math skills with the counting bears and other manipulatives. In order to support my student's with special needs, they will be receiving a second backpack, which contains even more materials to support their literacy and math development.
