Backpack Libraries - Everyone Deserves a Home Library !
Help me give my students a lending library using backpacks so students can check out a backpack library book every week to improve their literacy and reading skills.

My Project
Most of the libraries in our school district have closed due to reduced school funding. Students do not have an opportunity or access to books they can take home and read. Backpack libraries would address this issue and allow students to read again for fun and informational purposes.
These Backpack libraries are an excellent way to address student funding inequities and increase students' interest in reading, also increasing their reading skills.
Students will select a backpack containing a book that engages them at the beginning of the week. They will return their backpack library by the end of the week, giving the other students in the classroom an opportunity to borrow the backpack library.
