My Students
My students are eager learners just waiting for the right tools to help them succeed. It will be a whole new type of schooling when we return to the classroom, the new normal. My students will be nervous and apprehensive. I teach at a Title I school which means that more than 40% of the students are a part of a low-income household. This means many of my students will not have their own supplies to bring to school. This is a dynamic that impacts student learning and what makes my job of providing a positive learning environment for children that more important.
My Project
The 2020-2021 school year was definitely one for the books. With the 2021-2022 school year beginning in August, I want all my students to walk into my classroom focused on learning and not worrying about having supplies.
I would like for every child in my second grade class to experience this school year with all of the supplies needed to be successful.
Providing crayons, markers, pencils, glue sticks, headphones, water bottles, journals, and highlighters will ensure that all of my students will have what they need no matter their circumstances.
