Help me give my students some of the materials needed to start the new school year.

My Project
I have been an educator for 23 years. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of teaching a range of grade levels including kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade, and sixth grade. For the past two years, I’ve served as a gifted and talented teacher, working with exceptional students in grades 3 through 7 across three different buildings in my district. When I transitioned into this role, I made the heartfelt decision to give away all of my classroom materials. Years’ worth of carefully collected supplies, books, manipulatives, and decorations to fellow teachers in need. I believed it was the right thing to do. A way to pass on the resources that had supported my teaching journey and to bless others who could use them.
However, I recently received unexpected news.
The gifted and talented program will be discontinued in our district next year. As a result, I will be returning to a traditional classroom teaching position. While I’m ready to embrace this new chapter with the same passion and dedication I’ve always brought to my students, I am now facing the challenge of starting completely from scratch without the materials or resources I once had.
I’m reaching out with humility and hope, asking for support as I rebuild my classroom. Funding is especially needed for basic classroom items such as cubby bins, white boards, laminating pouches, and other essential supplies that help create a functional and engaging learning environment. I truly believe that the kindness I extended before will come back full circle.
With the materials purchased such as composition notebooks, basic cleaning supplies, writing utensils, and so much more, I will be able to ignite a fire in my students and a love for learning.
