This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the joys of your elementary music and art class and how excited you got each week when it was your day to go? How about all of the fun instruments you got to play, all of the great performances and fun and messy art creations you made?
My passions are music and children, and by being an elementary music and art teacher, I get to spread my love and joy for music and art with my students.
My Project
As in any classroom, supplies can only withstand so much wear and tear from day to day and year to year. All 500+ students on my campus come through my classroom each week, which means more hands-on and use of the supplies than a homeroom class per say.
The new book tubs will be used to house the students' music/art portfolios where they collect their work all year long before it goes home in May.
The individual pencil sharpeners will allow each of my tables to have their own so there wouldn't be a line at the counter waiting to use the one that we have (that overheats often!). The colored pencils and glue sticks will help replace the ones that have run out or been broken throughout the school year.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
