Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am blessed with 24 amazing 2nd-grade students. Many of my students are English language learners and come from low-income families. Due to circumstances, students may not come to school mentally ready to learn, nor do they have all the resources necessary to have a successful school day. Thus, my job as their educator is to fill in the missing parts and provide students with everything they need to be successful learners. My students and I truly appreciate all the materials we receive from DonorsChoose, which help our days run smoothly.
My Project
In a few weeks, my school will open for in-person learning. There are still so many unknowns to what that first day will look like. Students might be excited and enthusiastic to return. They also might be scared, nervous, anxious. Whatever students may be feeling, I want them to feel at ease once they enter our classroom. Some of the materials I requested will help me set up an inviting and calm classroom environment. Other materials requested will support students in being organized and will inspire them to show their creativity in different ways.
