This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I will be teaching a group of 33 fifth graders in Richmond, California.
My students are brilliant, funny, loving, and creative.
However, because they attend a Title I school with 100% free lunch in a low-income area, they do not have all of the tools that they need to be successful in the classroom.

My Project
For the second year in a row, I am requesting donations for my classroom of wonderful fifth graders. With new ELA and Math curricula, our students are primed for success in mastering fifth grade concepts.
Like all students, the children in my classroom need lots of materials to attain their educational goals.
Like any classroom, we need lots of pens, pencils, and decorations to get the year started off right. We need highlighters and post-it notes to annotate our engaging new books. We also need dry-erase markers and erasers so students can share their mathematical thinking with each other. Finally, we need basic kitchen and household supplies to use for science projects and keeping the classroom clean.
