Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The first day of kindergarten is a major transition in all young children’s lives. As a new Kindergarten teacher, I will do my best to make this transition as fun and engaging as possible. My new 5 year-old students will be curious little ones full of energy because they will be entering kindergarten. Some of them will enter school for the first time.

I believe that every student has the potential to learn and it is our job to find engaging activities that will unlock their full potential.

I teach in a public school that is located in a city where we have a 90 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged population and 4 percent foster youth.

My Project

The start of the school year always brings excitement and hope. Many of my students find it challenging to have proper school supplies on the first day of school. Most of the time, I always buy school supplies with my own money. Our school provides basic supplies like pencils, crayons, and newsprint paper.

For my students to be successful, they need to be prepared with proper learning tools on the first day of school.

If this project gets funded, my students will have a great start in kindergarten. They will have markers to make their drawing colorful and they will also use these markers to practice their letters. I want them to stay motivated so by using colorful markers, they will want to practice more and more. We will use card stock paper to make long lasting projects that will not fade away. The chart paper will make a difference because we will use it to make colorful poster to teach new concepts. These posters will be displayed in the classroom and hopefully my students will use it as a reference.I like when things are organized and using their shiny and new writing journal will provide evidence of my students' progress as the year goes on.
