This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Through the years I’ve had some of the greatest speech and language students. They have shown so much progress and love being exposed to new and exciting things. They have all helped me grow to be the speech pathologist that I am today. They make me want to continue learn and seek new and exciting treatment approaches, technology, and strategies to help them. I love sharing my passion of speech and language with my students.
One student asked me, "Why do you do what you do?" I said, "It makes me so happy when I can help someone improve their speech and language skills."
My Project
I am a speech-language pathologist for Chicago Public Schools and I work with Prek-8th grade students. Due to the pandemic, I had to try to find materials for many grade levels, for various speech disorders (stuttering, language, articulation, etc.) Thank goodness for Teachers Pay Teachers where I was able to find materials that were fun and engaging.
As an educator, you have to pay out of pocket for what you need, to be able to work with your students.
