My Students

My students are a very diverse group of learners from a low income area. As a result of living in a low income area, many students are disadvantaged when it comes to growth opportunities. Our school provides many opportunities for students to engage in their interests, both academically and socially. Within the science classroom my students thrive when presented with hands on opportunities to learn and grow. They love any special demonstrations or experiments that accompany a lesson and provide excitement.

My Project

The start of a new school year is both an exciting and stressful time for many of my students and their families. While students look forward to new learning opportunities and reunions with their friends, many are also worried about having the necessary materials they need to put their best foot forward each and every day. These materials will assist me in creating a student resource center stocked with basic supplies in addition to designing a classroom that is inviting and student centered. Most of these supplies will provide use for the following school years in my classroom as well.
