Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are humble, imaginative and fun-loving kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community, yet they persevere.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online for one reason or another.
Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners. My students inspire me with their courage and perseverance, and are a reminder that obstacles can be overcome when you have just one person cheering you on to the finish line.
My Project
Distance learning is so different from regular school. I miss my students! And we're all suffering from way too much screen time! I would like to supply them with some non-screen activities they can do during our time back at school or home learning.
I have picked out a few things I think my students would enjoy, including dry erase markers and erasers to use with a dry erase board for solving math problems.
I have also included individual student supply boxes so they can store their own supplies in order to minimize sharing. Our goal is not only to learn but to stay healthy while learning at school or at home.
Once again, my students inspire me with their courage and perseverance, and are a reminder that obstacles can be overcome when you have caring people cheering you on to the finish line. Thanks for making a difference in our future - our students!
