Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a wonderful class of 25 third-graders. They are excited, energetic, and enthusiastic. My students love school, and are trying their best to stay focused on their learning with distance learning.

We are a Title I, low-performing school with a majority of English-language learners.

As we get ready to begin the new school year with distance learning, it is apparent that they still need basic school supplies - whiteboards, markers, pencil sharpeners. Many of my students do not have these basic school supplies at home and have not been able to obtain them.

My Project

My students love to come to school to learn and experience all that we do in third grade. But because of the Pandemic, the first day of school will be from home. I would like to have some essential supplies in place before they begin Third Grade with Distance Learning! Having the whiteboards and markers will make it easier for them to do work in our ZOOM meetings, and display their work so that I can see it. I have pencils for my students, but the pencil sharpeners will allow them to keep their pencils ready for work! The hundreds boards will enable each child to have access to an important math learning tool.

These are basic school supplies that my students don't have and may not be able to afford.

During these chaotic and uncertain times, please help my students begin the new school year able to fully access the Third Grade curriculum while they are at home. I know that these supplies will be appreciated by students and their families. Help me give my students the tools they need to continue their education at home.
