Back to School Outlet Through Gross Motor and Other Activities

Help me give my students Kids Pop up Play Tent Crawl Tunnel, Swing, hoppers, balloons, trucks, flexible dinosaur track and Step-a-Logs to encourage and motivate them to move and get their energy out.

My Students

I am currently a fully self-contained preschool special education teacher in a Title I elementary school in Hawaii. More than half of my students are from low income families. I have preschool students with various disabilities and delays including autism, fine motor, gross motor, speech/communication, behavior management, social emotional needs developmental delays and medically fragile.

My students are full of energy, loving, caring, spirited and eager to learn group.

My Project

The pandemic has changed the lives of many students. Students living circumstances, schedules, eating habits and routines have changed in various ways. School has definitely changed for my virtual learning students with no classroom and classmates to play with physically.

My preschool students who are learning virtually participate daily in calendar activities, various unit lessons, story time, math activities and language/communication development.

They see each other virtually, say hi to each other, sometimes do some sharing of a special toy or share what they have been doing at home. We do activities like "freeze".

When my students return to school they will need to have an outlet from being at home all these months. I’d like to my students to be able to have an outlet through the use of gross motor activities and toys that will encourage movement. I’d like to supply my students with activities such as step-a-Logs, swing, bouncy animals, tunnels and bubble machines to motivate and encourage movement.
