My students need access to some of the most basic school supplies. In Philadelphia, materials can be hard to come by without paying out of pocket for necessities.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Perkins's classroom raised $254

My Students
I am a Philadelphia public school teacher in the subject area of mathematics. I love meeting students at the beginning of the year and shining light on all of the similarities and differences our students share with one another as it pertains to all areas and aspects of culture, interests, goals, aspirations, and many more depending on what our students are willing to share.
I love creating a growth mindset within our classroom environment and using it to motivate each student as they stay on track to tackle goals ranging in term length.
I do my best to implement best practices and use many forms of manipulatives to supplement explanations, as well as, provide them to students to increase engagement. There are not many more rewarding feelings than creating a classroom full of motivated students who are accountable and motivated to stay continuously engaged in learning.
My Project
Many students within the Philadelphia School District live in impoverished neighborhoods. Some families can barely afford to supply their children with some of the most basic school supplies. I always do my best to stay stocked on some of the most basic, yet crucial and necessary items.
Students love to use the dry erase markers to spill out their thoughts and work through problems, whether it's on an individual whiteboard, their desk top, or on the wall where I have drilled in 8ft (tall) x 4ft (wide) whiteboards one after another for the length of the room.
All of the components within this fundraiser will be directly utilized by the students in providing them an effective pathway to enlightenment.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
