Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a K-8 span school located in Southern California. The students who attend our school are Latino, and they qualify for free meals. Our school is designated as a Title I school due to the highly impoverished area. The majority of our students are first generation Americans. Most families live in apartments and often live with other families in very small quarters - due to the limited economic resources.
My Project
These basic school supplies will be used by students at school and at home. At home they can use these supplies to complete homework. At school students will be excited to use basic supplies that they might not be able to buy on their own. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
