This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Second grade is filled with so much learning and growing. Second graders learn how to read and learn the importance of responsibility.
Instilling a love for reading in my students is one of my greatest joys as a 2nd grade teacher.
Decodable books are a great way to help a student's love for reading grow because they become more confident in their reading abilities. These decodable books will be used everyday by my students in literacy groups where instruction is differentiated to meet the needs of all my learners.
One important skill I try to emphasize with my students is being responsible. One way to teach this life skill is by having the students be responsible for their learning materials. At the start of the school year, each student will be given a pencil box filled with supplies.
