This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach dual-language English and my students receive half of their daily instruction in English and half in Spanish. I have two groups of students, which is around 50 in total.
My students are simultaneously learning Spanish and English to eventually become biliterate.
A lot of these students live in poverty and have huge gaps in their education prior to coming to the United States.
My Project
Students use their Chromebooks several times throughout the day. This requires a reliable pair of headphones with a microphone for each student.
Parents in my school are usually not able to provide their child with a pair of headphones.
These headphones are crucial for any task completed on the computer, especially for my English learners who often have to record themselves during their online language practice.
Headphones are also beneficial when all 25 students are using their Chromebooks with sound.
Pencils are a necessity in any classroom and we go through hundreds of them a year!
