This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students make up the third grade ICT class in a high poverty school in Washington Heights. Despite the fact that almost 90% of the students in my school are from low income families, my class is made up of an amazing group of children who love to learn. These children love school. They are inquisitive, creative, and very enthusiastic. They absolutely love reading, and many of them are approaching grade level and some are even reading above grade level. I can't wait to watch them grow even more this year!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The hand sanitizer refill pack will help us keep our hands clean on our way to lunch and prep. The magnet rounds will make our white board more lively as I can then interchangeably display anchor charts and talk stems throughout the year. The mini 3 drawer organizer will be where students retrieve and return dull pencils in our writing center. Lastly, the broom will be for our class clean up crew which will be hung by the requested command grippers.
The donations to this project will help to give my students extra materials that aren't on the basic school supply list each and every school year, but will add to our classroom environment.
They will also be taught how to use these materials properly and learn responsibility through new materials in the classroom. I am asking for your support in this one!
