This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
There are many things I love about my newcomer Multilingual students. They arrive in my classroom wide-eyed, curious, and eager to learn a new language and get acclimated to an entirely new culture. Not only are they new to our school, but new to the United States. My role is to help ease their transition and it is important for me to help them feel welcome and supported in our school.
Unfortunately, the majority of my immigrant students do not have the necessary school supplies to begin their learning.
I wrote this proposal in hopes that we will be able to provide some of the supplies they needed such as pencils, a pencil case, headphones, colored pencils, crayons, and markers, and some fun classroom games to help them feel comfortable.
I believe having their own supplies gives them independence and also contributes to their confidence. I appreciate each and every dollar contributed to help make this possible.
