Back To School Basics: Covid-19 Style

Help me give my students their own materials to learn with as we go back to school.

My Students

I have a wide range of racial and socio-economic diversity in my classroom. My students are eager to learn and have different needs. They love hands on learning and are amazing problem solvers! They are true kind souls that are capable of achieving greatness if they try their best!

My students have a wide range of needs to support their learning styles.

I want to provide the best possible environment to make my students successful which is why I am advocating for them through Donors Choose. Covid-19 has really put a spin on how schools are able to safely open this year. I need to be able to safely allow students to learn in my classroom. In order to do this, restructuring the space in order to maintain social distancing is necessary.

My Project

These materials are going to allow students to minimize sharing common materials. In doing so, it will provide a safer space for students to access materials they may need such as pencils, colored pencils and notebooks. Based on our hybrid style of teaching, book boxes will be used to keep student materials out of desks that may be shared between cohorts (after being properly sanitized).

Students are ready to learn!

Therefore, we will need plenty of paper to keep our minds exploring through readers workshop as well as writers workshop. Headphones will be a must as virtual breakouts occur during the school day with peers who are at home learning.
