This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty four adorable and curious five year old kindergarten students in my class. Many have not had the preschool experiences of being in a classroom therefore taking turns and following directions are skills that we work on all year long.

I have diverse group of students from many ethnic backgrounds.

More than half of the students are English learners. Our school is in the high poverty zone More than sixty percent of the students are on free/reduced lunch program.

My Project

Students love to be rewarded for their best behaviors and teachers are delighted to recognize them. Since many have not had the preschool experiences of being in a classroom setting, listening and following directions in class, keeping hands to themselves is a hard concept for five year old students.

I would like to reward students with treasure toys for making the right choice.

By recognizing positive behaviors such as -sharing, respecting others, and cleaning up- my class will be a better listeners, cooperative and actively engaged in the lessons. Students will go home with goodies that they can add to their toy collections. I HAD A GOOD DAY awards will go home to share with the family.

By funding our class project, Back to School 2016, Kindergarten students will know that rules help our learning community to be a safe environment where we will all be happy to take part of.
