Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It's the beginning of a school year and we are all excited to meet our brand new friends. Our students are taking their first step into public education as kindergarten students. But my biggest challenge is providing them with new art supplies.
I have twenty four rambunctious and curious kindergarten students in my class.
Our students love arts and craft. We also enjoy showing it off to others by displaying it in the hallway bulletin boards .We are a high poverty school in a midst of apartments and single family homes. Over fifty percent of the students are from low income homes and they are on free/reduced lunch program.
My Project
Arts and craft is our favorite time of the day. To display our project, we will use small printed cut-outs to write the title and the name of the artist. Magnets will be use to put it on the bulletin boards in the hallways. We will learn to appreciate the artist and respect the project by not touching it. Collage is another creative art form. We will use texture art papers and other three dimensional objects to design this project.
Design your own calendar will be a Christmas gift for parents. It will be filled with children's hand drawings, thumb prints, collages, and paintings. It be a wonderful keepsake that will last forever. Lastly, I will recognize their projects with awards and stamped papers.
By funding this project, our class can have our own exhibition in the hallway filled with our art projects for everyone to enjoy.
We would be very proud to create one of a kind precious art to give as a gift to friends and family. Most of all, our students will be thankful that there are people who support our class with new art supplies. Back to School 2015 will definitely be a special year for all of us.
