My Students
Our school is one that is small-knit but in a high-poverty community. Many of my students have so many strikes against them, and education is vital for them to break the cycle and be successful in school and in life.
School is supposed to be a safe place for learning, but keeping them engaged is a struggle when they have other, more important issues on their minds.
Finding activities that engage students while they learn at the same time is important to keeping them in school, bringing attendance up, as well as helping them show proficiency in specific standards. Please help my students have fun learning.
My Project
These supplies, color printer, padlocks, and lock boxes, will help to create team-building activities that will get them all working together. This class has struggled with cooperation and collaboration, so working together as a team to get to the ultimate goal will hopefully help to strengthen those skills and rebuild their sense of community in the classroom.
Students will need to solve clues together and progress to the next steps in order to solve the mystery that creates the Escape Room.
The activities are themed for specific purposes, such as the beginning of the year collaboration and strengthing their skills in math, language arts, health, science, and geography. After all is said and done, students will have worked together as a team, solved multi-step problems themed in the area of the curriculum that they are working in, and will have learned something while having fun.
