My students need basic school supplies to help them have a successful year in Kindergarten! Some of my students come from low-income families, and purchasing school supplies can be a financial burden.
My school is a public school located in Malden, MA. We are a K-8 school, with 897 students currently enrolled. Students at this school come from a variety of economic backgrounds. About 62% of students come from low-income families. Students also speak a multitude of languages such as English, Chinese, Spanish, French Creole, and Portuguese. At our school, we recognize and celebrate our diverse students.
No matter what kind of background my students come from, they always come into the classroom with huge smiles on their faces, ready to learn.
My main goal is to help my students love school. I strive to help them build that foundation to become life-long learners. I want my students to always have positive memories of their year in kindergarten!
My Project
As we approach the start of a new school year, my new kiddos are in need of basic school supplies to help them have a successful and fun year.
By donating to this project, you will be helping children stay organized and foster a love for learning and creating.
My students are in need of folders to help keep their literacy and writing work organized, crayons, markers, pencils, and glue sticks. All of those materials will help my students express their creativity! My students are also in need of Expo markers, which will be used as they begin to experiment with writing and spelling. We will use the chart paper for collaborating ideas and making KWL charts when discussing new topics!
Purchasing back to school supplies can cause a financial burden to students who come from low-income families. Often, my colleagues and I purchase these items for our students throughout the year. Not only will your donation help students enjoy school, it'll also help to alleviate financial stress during back-to-school time. I want my students to be able to start the school off right with all the supplies they'll need!
