Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hi! I will be teaching a first grade inclusion class. My current register consist of 10 special education students and 14 general education students. I already set up my classroom with my co-teacher, and the students will be working in different stations during the school day. My school is Title 1, which means it is in need of improvement, and we all are working hard to make sure that all students get an outstanding education.

We want to create an educational environment in which each student become an independent learner. With all the budget cut from the state and the city, the classrooms are getting less and less supplies, and the administration never provides games to set up stations in the classroom. The teachers are required to come up with ideas to better serve their students. Students are always eager to play games, and they do not even realize how much they are learning as they play educational games.

Stations is the main focus of our classroom. The games that I am requesting are excellent to set up different stations in which the students work independently in pairs or groups. Students are always eager to play games and they learn the essential skills as they have fun with literacy games. I believe the materials I am requesting will develop my students writing skills as they play creating silly sentences. They will, as well, learn grammar and verbs and practice phonics as they work in different centers, while I am conferring and working one to one with a student that might need extra support.

Your donation will be a FUN and CREATIVE way to enhance my students writing skills, as well as the phonics part of my lesson. You will make it possible for my students to learn essential skills as they have fun and enthusiastically engage themselves as they learn.
