This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a high school teacher in a title one district, I have many students who don’t have access to the things they need. I want to create a care closet in my classroom that provides hygiene products, food, snacks, and materials for students in need.

I would like to stock my care closet with basics such as feminine products, deodorant, ramen noodles, body wipes, and snacks to support my students.

I plan to keep this closet stocked for all students to use when they are in need. We know that students can better focus when their basic needs are met, and I want to provide a space for students to feel supported and loved all while having these basic needs met. All students deserve to be cared for, and I hope these items will help let them know how much they matter.
