My Students

My students have really struggled with distance learning since the pandemic began in March, 2020 and our school district went to online school only. We returned to a hybrid model in February, 2021, but elementary music classes were still completely virtual.

We are looking forward to masked in-person learning this fall, for the first time in 18 months!

This school is a 100% poverty school where families struggle to provide basic necessities for their children. We do not have a functioning PTO/PTA group at our school, so it up to the administration to find funds for my music classes and their budget is always stretched way too thin. Funds from sources such as DonorsChoose.org help to fill in the funding gaps.

My Project

After a completely virtual leaning year for my K-5 general and instrumental music students, I am excited to be able to teach in person this fall. These materials will help me and my students have a successful in-person learning experience.

My instrumental music students were so patient last year with online learning and I want to reward them with shiny new binders and sheet protectors for their music.

I also need Ziploc bags to put all the recorders in for my 3rd graders, as I am hopeful that we will be able to play recorder in person this year.

Laminating sheets and card stock will help me create rhythm manipulatives for my younger students to use during general music classes.
