My Students

As we've opened up a brand new school a few years ago, my third graders are being thrown into a whirlwind of new things. They are excited about school, but are limited in what they can do to the new school. My students are a mixture of socioeconomic statuses and backgrounds.

Since our school is still pretty new, I am learning about the different needs of each of my students from scratch.

I have a lot of students coming into school for the very first time this year, as they have been homeschooled up to this point. Although they are new to the school system, they are eager to come each day and learn new things!

My Project

The easel will be a huge game changer in my classroom. This will allow me to teach close up, but also allow students to share their work with their peers. I know that being able to write what they are thinking is so helpful for student learning.

Being able use art supplies , like crayons and colored pencils, to create different projects will help students be more invested in their learning.

Having colored paper can add a little extra fun to spelling and fact practice.I know that crayons, scissors, and colored pencils are a "basic" school supply, but they are so important, and needed, in my classroom.

A wireless microphone will be a fun way for us to share some of the things that we are working on. It helps even the most shy of students want to be involved in sharing their work with their peers.

It is all of the little things that add up to create an inviting classroom environment. Having organizational things, like the photo boxes, help to keep our classroom running smoothly. And all of the supplies in this project are just going to help my students be more successful in their education.
