This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When you think of school you think of paper, glue, pencils, and crayons! Basic school supplies are a necessity that many teachers must purchase out of pocket each year.

I teach Algebra and Geometry to 9th-12th grade students at a rural high school in Alabama.

My school is a Title I school which means that a large percentage of students meet the criteria for living at or below the poverty line. 92% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch.

My Project

I never want students to feel embarrassed if they can't afford to purchase basic school supplies. I keep a table in the classroom where basic school supplies can be found and used by students. We do hands-on projects which require the use of colored pencils, markers, and tape. I am asking for your help to purchase new school supplies for the school year. We also are requesting a chair for our computer and technology station.
