Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These third-grade students truly make a great deal of effort to achieve their goals! As we make advancements with our reading skills, our writing skills are, unfortunately, developing more slowly. I hope to use the selected read-aloud mentor texts to provide strong examples of a variety of writing genres, such as narrative and opinion. This will expose students to a greater variety of literature, as well as providing solid examples of genre characteristics. Students will then be able to use this knowledge to create their own narrative or opinion writing. The cardstock will serve as covers for the student-created books, which will be shared with many future students.
Learning takes a great deal of energy and effort!
The variety of black light and glow materials will help us have a celebration, as our writing grows and glows! I hope to transform our classroom into a Celebration Castle, where we can write and share passages under black lights, and simply have fun to celebrate the learning process! The black lights, strobe light, and light-up glasses will provide a well-earned celebratory and enjoyable environment. We will be getting physical movement and being creative in our dance moves!
The wheeled cart will serve as a storage unit, as well as providing a simple means of transport for the materials.
Writing is a much-needed life skill, which requires strong instruction and demonstration. Learning deserves to be celebrated!
