This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my Early Childhood Special Education classroom are eager to learn! We have a wide array of learners that are just growing by the minute! Our classroom contains 10 hard workers in the AM class and 15 just as hard working students in the PM class, all ranging from ages 3-5 years old with a variety of learning needs. We view ourselves as a classroom community and take care of one another. They are fun, energetic, happy little students begging for more opportunities to explore!

My Project

This year feels like it will be my first year teaching all over again! With a full year of remote learning, we tried to keep our students busy by creating a school fun environment in their homes. By doing this, we have depleted our supplies and are in desperate need!

This school year I want to get students excited to be back in our school building and back into a regular school routine!

Most of the supplies on the list are things we use regularly. Post-it chart paper is essential in PreK so we can write down our ideas while learning about new things. Markers are always in high demand and what better way to explore our senses in science with Mr. Sketch smelly markers!? Don't forget glue sticks...we go through so many in our student lead art center that we are constantly ordering more! We are also in need of some office supplies such as cardstock to make literacy and math games, file folders to keep an individual portfolio for the students, lamination pouches so that we can use these games over and over again, and so much more. I have added some fun storytelling props to one of our favorite stories and emotion Lego blocks to help support the social-emotional curriculum we will be implementing this year.

This year is going to be the year we make children fall in love with school all over again! After a long year of remote learning, I am reading to get back in the classroom and begin creating for my students.
